Kanban for Software Development and Marketing

Over 10 years ago, a lifetime for the technology world, Henrik Kniberg, famous for the Spotify Model, and his brilliant videos for Product Owners gave us a guide for Kanban teams that do software development.

A few years later Yuval Yeret did his own revision to Henrik’s guide but focused this time on Marketing.

Both were generous enough to make the work part of the Creative Commons, and allowing a remix, and updates. Thank you both.

In our consultancy we have worked with many software engineering companies, and also marketing agencies, and departments that need to have this introductory guide and template.

We felt it was time to update these diagrams, and share them with the Kanban community at large.

So here they are both, first an update to the Kanban Software Engineering Guide:

Kanban Template - Kick Start for Software Engineering

And next the Kanban Guide for Marketing updated for those who want to use it in an agency or marketing area:

If you have other ideas to adapt this work to HR, Security, Compliance, or even Smart Contract development in the crypto industry let us know, we’d be happy to include your updated diagrams here, or link to your articles or both.

To make it easy for you to use this diagrams, below are the PowerPoints for the Software Engineering diagram, and also the Marketing one. We just ask you to give credit where credit is due. Enjoy!

Enterprise Agile Coach, Agile Program Manager, Software Engineering Manager & Developer who is a fan of Kanban, Scrum, and SAFe. I am constantly pursuing leading edge technologies, and nowadays those are Crypto, Blockchain and decentralized applications which represent the future of software. On the personal side I am a seeker of truth, who loves freedom, people and nations. I firmly believe we live once, and we must make it a better journey for ourselves, and for others. Two quotes I admire: “Who is wise? One who learns from every man… Who is strong? One who overpowers his inclinations… Who is rich? One who is satisfied with his lot… Who is honorable? One who honors his fellows.” – Ben Zoma “Kites rise highest against the wind – not with it.” – Winston Churchill
